Capoeira, historically, has been very male dominated, but it has never been exclusively male (even in 1878 two women were arrested for capoeira"). At present, through still male dominated, with many more men at high ranks especially, the pool of women capoeiristas is growing. Since there is no universally accepted competition, I can say that some competitions are co-ed and some are divided by gender.
