The rising action in the story of Emmett Till involves his arrival in Money, Mississippi, his interaction with Carolyn Bryant at the Bryant's Grocery and Meat Market, and the subsequent events that lead to his brutal murder. This includes his alleged whistling at Carolyn Bryant, her husband Roy Bryant and his half-brother J.W. Milam abducting Till from his great-uncle's house, and the discovery of Till's mutilated body in the Tallahatchie River.
Roy Bryant (husband of white woman Emmett flirted with) and his half brother John William Milam killed Emmett Till by: 1) Kidnapping him from his great uncle Mose Wright's house 2) Beat him in Milam's shed 3) Gouged out Emmett's eye in the shed 4) Shot him with a pistol 5) Tied a cotton gin fan to the dead boy with barbed wire and pitched him into the Tallahatchie. If this sounds gruesome, there is no other way to make it sound like a fairy tale.
No, but he was in an episode of TV show, The Nanny!
On August 24, 1955, Emmett Till entered Roy Bryant's store and was paying his wife Carolyn Bryant for candy, bubblegum, and a soft drink. Till allegedly "wolf whistled" at her. Although Carolyn did not tell her husband about the incident, word got around quickly. On August 28, 1955 at 2 a.m., Roy Bryant and his half brother, J.W. Milam found Till sleeping in his uncle's cabin. They carried Till away. Three days later, Till's corpse was found in the depths of the Tallahatchie River with a bullet hole through his head and many other serious injuries.
