It's not so much the pony's height as it is his build that will influence the riders weight. A horse shouldn't carry more than 20%of it's own body weight, this includes the rider and tack. But keep in mind that a shorter sturdier horse/pony with thick cannon bones and broad loins will always be stronger and more able to carry heavier weights than taller horses.
no im 13 and i have a 13 3hh pony
it dipense on how tall you are
If you are too tall for a pony, ride a horse instead.
12 stone is already too heavy for a 13 year old. Do not put on more weight.
I would imagine that largely depends on how big the 17 year old is and how big the pony is. A tall heavy 17 year old would obviously be too big for a small pony. It would probably be best to ask advice from a reputable local riding stables.
6.2 stones (almost 87 pounds or 39.55 kilograms) is at the upper ranges of what a Shetland pony can carry. All horses and ponies should only ever carry 20% of their own bodyweight, since the average weight for a Shetland pony is 450 pounds ( 32.1 stone or 204.11 kg.) the maximum they should carry is 90 pounds ( 6.4 stone or 40.82 kg) this includes the rider and the tack added together.
The horse and pony are loaded down with the gold and silver from the trolls.Gandalf and Bilbo walked because the pony and horse were carrying too much. They had stopped at the treasure cache they had taken from the trolls. It was a lot of gold and silver and was very heavy.

the Chinese king had a pony tail too
Yes, but make sure its not too big for it and the person riding the pony is not too big for it.
No and you are wasting too much time on the computer instead of being a happy active 10 year old. Get off the computer and play outside with your friends. 5 stone = 70 lbs
no there's not a specific pony you should use for riding there's loads of different breeds and it really depends on the size and weight of the rider because you can harm the animal if your too heavy. and if your going to a riding stables then they would decide what horse/pony for you and if you need to ask a question like that then you should even think about buying one!!
