Green Point Stadium was originally located in Cape Town, South Africa. However, the government demolished it to build a new stadium to prepare for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Cape Town Stadium was built on the same grounds where Green Point Stadium once stood.
Green Point Stadium had 18,000 seats. The stadium was demolished in 2007 and was replaced with the Cape Town Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 69,070. During its construction, Cape Town Stadium was unofficially known as Green Point Stadium.
