In the book "Double Identity" by Margaret Peterson Haddix, the name of Bethany's mother is Elizabeth.
It's about this girl named Bethany who moves to her Aunt's house because her father says that shes in danger. When living there, she finds out who a person named Elizabeth is. Elizabeth is really her sister. They both look exactly alike. But she died before Bethany was born. Bethany's aunt tells Bethany how Elizabeth liked the same things Bethany liked. She can barely contact her parents. But she gets to talk to her mom who has been crying a lot. Her mom still thinks that Elizabeth is still alive. So thinking that Bethany is Elizabeth, Bethany finds out that she's a clone of Elizabeth. Bethany's mom and dad agreed to make a clone of Elizabeth so they wouldn't miss her. The only difference about her and Elizabeth is that Elizabeth hates swimming while Bethany loves to swim. Bethany finds out that her mom cried a lot because it was near the day when Elizabeth died and since Bethany is a clone, she thinks that she'll die too. In the book, all Bethany really does is find out about Elizabeth and her past.

He is a person in the book that is shorta a criminal and he wanted Walter, Bethany's dad to clone himself because he was lonely and wanted someone to love but since Elizabeth is dead and they had her cells he cloned Elizabeth instead so Dalton was trying to hunt Walter down but not to hurt him he just wanted to know where his clone was and the money that Walter sent to myrlie's he got that because Dalton was paying Walter to clone him and so he sent the money to Bethany for emergencies. That is the improved answer
In "Double Identity" the antagonist is Bethany's parents. The reason is because they leave her with people that she does not know.
