well 5 over eights is equalized to 10 as 8 multiplied by 2 is 16 and there are total 16 pieces. Therefore there are 10pieces of white candy.

(what ever u do the bottom u do to the top so if u multiply 8 with 2, then u must multiply 5 with 2.)
