∙ 14y agoThe ball exiting the field across the goal line is not a foul.
The restart would be a kick off, goal kick, or corner kick depending on who touched it last, which goal line, and whether it went in the goal.

∙ 13y agoA foul cannot occur off the field of play. There can be misconduct off the field, in which case a caution or send off would be given at the next stoppage. The restart would be whatever the stoppage dictated.

∙ 12y ago"Foul play" is a generic term used to describe a style of play rather than a specific incident.
A "foul" is a specific incident, performed by a player, against an opponent, on the field of play, and during active play. The restart is a direct free kick for the opponent's team (or a penalty kick if it was a defender in their own penalty area).

The lines that mark a soccer field are touch lines, goal lines, the halfway line, the center circle, corner arcs, goal area lines, penalty area lines, and penalty arcs.
The goal area is 6 yards deep and 20 yards wide. 1. During the taking of a goal kick, the ball may be placed anywhere in this area. 2. During the taking of any free kick (direct or indirect), the ball is moved away from the goal line along a line perpendicular to the goal line to the top of this area; exactly 6 yards out. This is to prevent, for example, an indirect free kick 6 inches from the goal line. It would also give some running room for a defensive free kick going out.
From the penalty kick point.
The penalty was for offensive holding, which is a 10 yard penalty when committed in the field of play, but results in a safety if called in the end zone.
No. A different player may be elected to retake a penalty kick. An exception would be penalty kicks from the mark (after overtimes). No kicker may repeat until all his teammates have already kicked that round.
The penalty spot is 12 yards from the goal line.
44 yards is the total width.
