Sprains and strains are common. Anyone can have them. Children under age eight are less likely to have sprains than are older people. People who are active in sports suffer more strains and sprains than less active people.
Both skiing and snowboarding can result in sports injuries, but they tend to have slightly different injury patterns. Skiers are more likely to have knee injuries (from twisting motion during falls), and snowboarders tend to have more upper body injuries (as a result of falling on an outstretched hand). There are also many injuries common to both types of winter athletes.Hand*Colles wrist fracture* skiers thumb*wrist sprains*Finger fractures*wrist tendinitisBack*muscle strains of the back*low back pain*herniated disks*back ache and stressOther Injuries*frost bite and hypothermia*sprains and strains*delayed-onset muscle soreness

Sprains involve stretching or tearing of joint ligaments. Because ligaments are poorly vascularized, healing is slow. Cartilage injuries, particularly of the knee, are common in contact sports and may result from excessive twisting or high pressure. The avascular cartilage is unable to repair itself.
many common injuries are sprains, strains, minor concussive blows, fractures, eye and ear infections...
It depends on what type of activities a person is involved in. If someone takes part in certain sports, there are a lot of leg injuries that could happen, such as sprains, pulled muscles, and knee and foot injuries. But if someone does not lead a lifestyle that is heavy in sports, he or she will have less chance of getting major injuries.

I would say that there isn't a definite percent, since a lot of people do not consider cheerleading to be a sport. It has been proven however, to be the most dangerous sport for female athletes. This is mostly due to the fact that cheerleading results in more serious injuries than other sports. Permanent back injuries are common as well as bone breaks, sprains, and muscle strains.
