Well first there is club volleyball and age levels in club go from 12 to 18 years old. Then there is high school volleyball, but many parts of the United States do not offer boys volleyball where as girls volleyball is way more popular. If you are good enough you can compete on the Youth National Team when you are 17 or 18 years old. Then there is college volleyball where there is a few different associations like NCAA, NAIA, and more. Also in each associations there are at least 3 divisions. If you make the Youth National Team you are likely to make the Junior National Team which is 19 year olds. You can also play beach volleyball in the AVP. Again if you made the Junior National Team, you are likely to make the National Training Team where you train with the National Team and when you are good enough you can make the roster on the National Team. The U.S. National Team competes in many international competitions, such as NORCECA (a North American competition), World League (a competition consisting of the top teams of the world like Brazil, Russia, Bulgaria, etc.), and the Olympics.

Generally, for a highschool volleyball team, JV consists of freshman and sophomores. However, exceptions can be made; if a player only starts as a junior, the coach will usually have him/her as a swing, starting on JV and sitting varsity, so that the player can gain experience.

In 1995, volleyball was 100 years old, so volleyball was created 1895! That means it is 115 years old.
