Players don't get paid anything for winning the Stanley Cup (or for any games in the playoffs) unless their contract specifies that the team would pay a bonus for winning it. This would be negotiated between the player's agent and the team along with the rest of the stipulations in the contract.

Players don't get a salary for playing in the playoffs. However, the league provides an amount of money which increase the further a team goes in the playoffs. This money is divided among the players on the teams.

The NHL pays $6.5 million towards players playing in playoffs. in new CBA it will double. to $13 million. And it is prorated by games won and who wins the cup. NO ONE plays for free. Salary ends last day of season. For all players. players are paid for regular season. Extra funds are for playoffs
