A Scuba diving set can be anywhere from 50 to 100 dollars for a set to do a certification dive, but this is for just rental. I saw a scuba set for 1000 or 2000 dollars, but this is to buy the set. this was just a beginners set, however, and they can go for 5000 dollars for a good set.

The things i can recommend you to buy for diving equipment are your fins, snorkel, mask, wet suit, a regulator, and bcd also known as the buoyancy-control-device. This instruments will set you back a at least 1000 dollars. Those are the basic things you need to scuba. also my instructor said to me that its not worth buying a tank its better to rent one. The money,time, and maintenance of every year can be a hassle. Its better to go to your local diving center and renting one that is approved buy a licensed instructor to fill it up for you. well hope this helps. the actual time it takes you to learn and actually doing it is not that much. i started in the middle of march and buy memorial day weekend i was 60 feet under water in the sea of cortez. it was a wonderful experience:)
