Volleyball is the best sport ever. It is so much fun, and there are positions for short people like me too. You need to be skilled to play, but it is awesome.
Volleyball does not have bases . We do have positions though . Players may not switch positions without a substitution before the ball is served . After the ball leaves the server's hands the players are aloud to move wherever they wish on the court . But until the ball is hit they must stay in their positions without overlapping .

You can switched positions after a serve has crossed the net. However, if your team is on serve receive it is typical to wait until your team has received the ball and sent it back over the net and then switch positions.
