The tournament was scheduled as a single elimination event and 8 teams were entered. Two of the teams (Bohemia and Hungary) dropped out prior to the start of the event leaving 6 teams to compete for the gold medal. The teams that Bohemia and Hungary were scheduled to play, the Netherlands and France I, were awarded wins by walkover. In the other two first round games, Great Britain defeated Sweden and Denmark defeated France II.
In the semi-finals, Denmark defeated France I and Great Britain defeated the Netherlands.
France refused to play in the bronze medal game and were replaced by Sweden who was beaten by the Netherlands. Great Britain won the gold by beating Denmark.
