In the NBA the player has 8 seconds to cross the back court. In college it's 10.

8 seconds
the shot clock is 24 seconds, and it resets when it is shot once they get to the offensive side. So basically 24 seconds. There is no certain seconds where they have to shoot it only across half court
Eight seconds, as opposed to ten seconds in college ball.
When the offensive team has eight seconds to get the ball down to the other half side of the court to play offense.
10 seconds. In college if they call timeout they get a fresh 10 seconds when the ball in inbounded again. In the NBA they only get what time was left on the clock when timeout was called.
The defensive player just has to be on the inbounds part of the court. As long as they do not break the plane or touch the offensive player they are in a legal position.
