If you get a notification like "Message Not Delivered" or you get no notification at all, that's a sign of a potential block. Next, you could try calling the person. If the call goes right to voicemail or rings once (or a half ring) then goes to voicemail, that's further evidence you may have been blocked.

A voicemail is an audio recording of a message left by a telephone caller.
It means just what it says, the user has not taken the time to set up his voicemail box. Until this has been done it is not possible to leave voicemail for that person when their line is unavailable. The line could be unavailable if they are busy with another call or they are in do not disturb mode. If you are blocked you would not be passed off to voicemail, instead you would hear a different message with a numeric error code indicating calls to that number are not possible.
You can extend the length of time on a voicemail by checking the options that are listed with it. It will give you the option of choosing to lengthen your voicemail there.
It is possible that police will leave a voicemail on your phone.

Sprint offers many cell phone plans that include voicemail for free. You can also get text, web, and other options added for additional cost. Also, AT&T and NexTel have plans with voicemail.
