Jenson Button from Brawn Mercedes team won the 09 edition of the Malaysian GP held at Sepang. Nick Heidfield from BMW finished second and Timo glock of Toyota finished third. The race was shortened due to heavy rain and stopped after lap 31. Since less than 75% of race distance was covered, the drivers were awarded only half the points they would get usually. Button got 5, nick got 4 and glock got 3 points each. Earlier Jenson button had qualified on Pole and Jarno trulli started alongside him in the front row.

Jenson Button, driving his Honda drove a beautiful race to win the race after starting from 14th place on the grid. Incidentally, this was Jenson's first ever career victory.
