Rules require at minimum 7 players to be on the line for any play. If a goal line offense has a RB and FB then the line might have 8 on the line.

The offense is allowed up to ten players on the line of scrimmage, need one to receive the ball from the center. But the offensive is required to have a minimum of seven players on the line of scrimmage. Defensively all eleven can play on the line of scrimmage.

5 players must be on the line of scrimmage?

False. This question is not asked very well as it only applies to the offense. The offense must have at least 7 players on the line of scrimmage. These can include receivers. It does not mean that the offense must have 7 linemen. Offensive players not on the line of scrimmage must be at least one yard back. The defense, on the other hand, is not required to have any players on the line of scrimmage.

How many offensive players need to be on the line of scrimmage?

Seven, of which two are eligible receivers. All other offensive players must be at least one yard behind the line of scrimmage (the exception being the quarterback) for one second before the ball is snapped.

How many players are required to line up on the line of scrimmage in football?

On the offensive side, nobody has to be in a down position on the line of scrimmage, but there must be six men on the line. The defense does not have any regulations as to where they must line up on the line of scrimmage.

Is the distance of field goal measured from the kicking spot or the line of scrimmage?

A field goal is measured from where the ball is kicked from, not from the line of scrimmage. If Team A is kicking a field goal from the 20 yard line, the distance of the field goal would me measured as follows: Length to Goal Line: 20 Yards Length of Endzone: 10 Yards Place of Kick: 7 yards behind the line of scrimmage (typically kicks made from 6 to 7 yards behind the los) Total Distance of Field Goal: 37 yards.

What does offensive guard do?

In American football, they guard the scrimmage line.

Can you have 9 guys to the right side of the line of scrimmage?

There is no "right" side of the line of scrimmage. The line of scrimmage runs across the field from sideline to sideline. All eleven players from the offensive team begin the play on one side, and all eleven players from the defensive team begin on the other side. Either side may appear to be the "right" side, depending upon which goal the team is defending and/or which side of the field the spectators are seated. If, however, you intended to ask if 9 players from one team can line up to the right side of the BALL, the answer is yes, though you would still need seven offensive linemen, and you would not have an eligible receiver nor any protection on the left side. Such an alignment might be interesting, but would be essentially useless.

Can you have more than seven on the line of scrimage?

In American Football the offensive side must have seven players on the line of scrimmage. At one time it could have more. If they did today, then the players between the ends would need to have interior linemen numbers.
