One was New York Yankees second baseman Brian Doyle who had 52 career MLB at bats when the Yankees made the 1978 World Series. Doyle had 7 hits in 16 at bats for a .438 batting average in the '78 Series. He only had 147 additional at bats in his career and wound up retiring after the 1981 season.
