Plus two additional schools, Lindenwood and William Jewell, are in the process of transitioning to NCAA Division II.

The college football system is split into three divisions Division I FBS, Division I FCS. Division II and Division III. In division 2 football there are 282 schools.

division 1 cant play teams from division 2 unless fcs
Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, Mississippi, and Mississippi State are the teams in the college football sec west division.
There are 336 teams in men's college basketball.

There are no division 1-AA schools in the state of Alaska. no
1 ... the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
