No one participated in the 2005 Olympics as there were no Olympic Games that year. The Olympics only occur during even-numbered years every 2 years (2004, 2006, 2008, etc.), alternating between the Summer and Winter Games.

A lot, I know that! :) I know Canada doesn't participate that much in SUMMER olympics because they usually are really awesome in the WINTER olympics.
Australia have participated in every Summer Olympic Games, on two occasions as a joint team with New Zealand (in 1908 and 1912). With regard to the Winter Olympics, they participated in the 1936 contest, and in every contest since 1952.
