I believe my math is faulty in my first response below. The following is the workup for the estimate of total baseballs used in a Regular Season in the MLB:
2010 average pitches per team per game.....146
lifespan of a Baseball in pitches.........................7
games in the Regular Season........................162
number of teams in the league........................30
balls per team per game..................................21 = 146 ÷ 7
balls used in Reg Seas by team..................3,379 = 21 x 162
balls used in Reg Seas by all teams......101,366 = 30 x 3,379
more than anyone can count I'm sure, lol, but as a guess, I'll say around half a million if not more
It has been calculated that the average life-span of a Baseball is 7 pitches. The average pitch count in a game is 285. So a good guess is about 41 baseballs to a game. There are 162 games in a season, so almost 6,596 per team, per year. There are 30 teams, so that's approximately 197,871.43 baseballs used per season. This only accounts for regular season games.
This number does not include pre-season games, the All Star break and the post-season games, including the World Series.
It varies from season to season.
the lifespan of 1 is 7 pitches.
No, the baseballs for the final season at Yankee Stadium are not specially coded. BPL

Official league balls are used in all major league games, regular season and playoffs. Baseballs used in the playoffs and World Series have special imprints on them to designate the event(s).
what is 3x5x7
Hundreds and even thousands of bats are used in an MLB Season. One reason for that is because of broken bats. But another reason for that is because a lot of professional hitters are very superstitious players. They will use a bat once and depending on what happens, they may never use it again.
Official Rawlings World Series and All-Star BaseballsRawlings started making the official World Series game baseballs in 1978 that have an Official World Series logo printed on the ball. Before 1978 official regular season American baseballs were used when playing in the AL ballpark, and Official National League baseballs were used while playing in the NL ballpark. Rawlings started to make All-Star baseballs in 1979 that featured the All-Star logo.
Dozens. There is no specific number because it depends on how many are hit out of play
Up until 1977 regular season baseballs were used during the World Series. Rawlings started to make World Series baseballs in 1978 that features the World Series logo, and have been making them ever since.
Major League Baseball uses about 160,000 baseballs in a season. the lifespan of 1 is 7 pitches. the average baseball lasts 9 pitches. That's as close as I can come. OK. Let's say the average baseball lasts 9 pitches. Let's also say the average inning lasts 30 pitches (15 per half inning). We'll approximate the total number of pitches per game at 270. That would make 30 baseballs used per game (270 / 9). If all 30 teams played the entire 162 scheduled games in a season, that would be 2,430 games played. So for this example, that would make 72,900 baseballs used in one season.
