Can not give a definite answer, what I do know is this: Charlie Gallagher won one with Celtic in 67; Shay Brennan & Tony Dunne with Man U in 68; Steve Heighway won 3 with Liverpool, 2 in the seventies, and one in 81; Ronnie Whelan has one form 84; Roy Keane & Denis Irwin world of got one each in 1999 with Man U; Steve Finnan won it with Liverpool a few years ago; and John O'Shea was part of the winners in 2009. NB: Not sure how many Mark Lawranson (sorry about the spelling, if it's wrong) has with Liverpool. However, what I do not know is this: Has Ronnie got one from 81?; was there any Republic players involved with Forest when the won 2 or Villa when they won it; Did Sean Fallon who was assistant manager with Celtic in 67 get one?, was there any other Irish involved with Celtic other than the two already stated?; did Darren Potter get one with Liverpool that time?, I don't think he did.
As of 2022, eight players from the Republic of Ireland have won the European Cup/Champions League. These players are Tony Dunne, John Giles, Liam Brady, Mark Lawrenson, Ronnie Whelan, Steve Finnan, Shay Given, and Darren Fletcher (although Fletcher represents Scotland internationally, he was born in Ireland).

After that, there were two teams in Ireland, one representing Northern Ireland and one representing the Republic of Ireland, but both could pick players from all of Ireland and both used the name Ireland. It was not until 1950 that the two teams were distinguished as Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.Northern Ireland only came into existence in 1922.
