In the Western Conference were: Green Bay Packers, Baltimore Colts, Chicago Bears, San Francisco 49ers, Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, and Los Angeles Rams. The teams finished in the order above, except that the Packers and the Colts were tied for the Western Conference lead at 10-3-1. A tie-breaking Championship playoff game was won by the Pack, who then went on to defeat the Cleveland Browns in the NFL Championship Game. It was the first of three consecutive NFL titles won by Green Bay, the next two of which included victories in the first and second Super Bowl Games.
