I am on track and usually boys are expected to run a 6 minute mile. The 3200m is a long race but your expected to keep your pace so about 13 minutes would be a good 3200m
The track at Flemington Racecourse is 2312 metres long; the race itself is run over 3200 metres.
1000 metres = 1 kilometre so 3200 m = 3200/1000 = 3.2 km. Simple!

Any child can run around a track as long as they can run. There is no age requirement to be able to go around a track. Kids 1-2 years old may run if they wish.
Running events in Track include: (for high school) 100 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter, 800 meter, 1600 ( one mile) meter, 3200 (two mile) meter, 100 meter hurdles (the hurdle height in this event is usually higher than in the 300 meter hurdles), 300 meter hurdles, 4x100 meter relay (four people each running 100 meters), 4x200 meter relay, 4x400 meter relay, and 4x800 meter relay

Field sports are those events that are not performed on a track. When you hear the term 'Track and Field', the 'track' sports are those that are performed on a track (100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, 400 meter dash, 1500 meter run, etc.). The 'field' sports are not performed on a track (high jump, long jump, shot put, pole vault, etc).
Track and field is a unique sport in the sense that it's mostly individual competition. A track meet is broken into events, or different challenges that each athlete competes in. The running events are the 3200 meter run, 1600 meter run, 800 meter run, 400 meter sprint, 200 meter sprint and the 100 meter sprint. There are also100 and 300-meter hurdles. The relays consist of the 1600m, 800m, and 400m. Relays consist of 4 people splitting a race up into four sections and handing off a baton when they change runners. So, in the 400m relay each person runs 100 meters. Field events concentrate more on the talent and technique of jumping or throwing rather than speed. Field events consist of Long-jump, High-jump, Triple-jump, pole vault, shot put, discuss and javelin.
The 800 meter run is a half mile or, on a standard 400 meter track, two complete laps.
100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, 400 meter dash, 800 meter run, and the 1500 meter run.
A 400 meter dash or 1/4 of a mile is once around a standard sized track.
800 meter, 1600 meter, 5000 meter, and the 10000 meter run. these are all long distance events in track and field. ~Sheldon P. Sherman

There are four track events in the decathlon: First Day: 100 meter dash and 400 meter run Second Day: 110 meter hurdles and 1500 meter run
Well, we run the 3200 here but im pretty sure my college friend said it starts at the 200m, same for the 5k, so it ends on the usual finish line.
he won his title for running 8:34.
two and a half on a 400 meter track
The fastest Two Mile time is 8:58.58, and is 18 yards longer than the 3200. I guess you could subtract 2+ seconds.
