Water skiing is a completely different sport since its inception. The skis that are currently used by the pros, turn better and actually slightly bend when crossing the wake for better angle and control. The material that are being used is carbon fiber whereas back in the day it was wood, which would be heavy and be harder to turn the ski. The fin has now been the main center of attention in professional skiing. There are thousands of different types of fins and sub fins on the main fin to make it easier to turn at the boueys. In addition, the boots that are used allow better control of the ski for maximum control.
