100 metres in 9.58 seconds equates to 0.1 kilometres in 0.0026611 hours, which gives a speed of 37.578 kilometres per hour. As this is the average speed over the distance and much of this is spent accelerating, the speed for that portion would be much lower than this. The peak speed could thus be easily above 40 kmh-1.
