it depends on the style of linebacker. Linebackers however range in between running a 40 yard dash in 4.4 seconds to running it in about 4.8 seconds. This, of course is for top linebackers in Division 1 College Football.

There were three starting linebackers - Ralph Baker, Al Atkinson, and Larry Grantham.
There are many, if starting and back-up linebackers are included. The most intense one is Clay Matthews.
From 1993-1995, outside linebackers Greg Lloyd and Kevin Greene were known as "Quiver & Quake".

Jack Ham is the Hall of Fame strong side outside linebacker who won 4 superbowls with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1970s. He is one of the few strong side outside linebackers in the Hall of Fame; most outside linebackers in the Hall are weak side backers, or "will" as opposed to "sam" linebackers. He is generally considered one of if not the greatest pass coverage linebackers of all time. PaymonM
