I participate in track and cross-country events in and outside of school, so I have some experience with this subject. For me, jogging is better for losing weight than speed walking. Before I really got involved in track, I did speed walking and I didn't see much of a quick difference. I began to start jogging and I started seeing a major improvement in my weight, muscular toning and strength. So i went on to running and cross-country and it's really improved myself physically and mentally. But if you're not really a running type person, I suggest walking/speed walking 2-3 times daily. Possibly once when you wake up and as night comes around. I also suggest to maybe have a friend or relative come with you for moral support to help in keeping you motivated and reminding you.
