It teaches you the correct impact position with a descending blow to the ball, with your hands in front of the ball at impact. It basically only has a sweet spot, and the rest of the club head is rounded, so if you don't hit the sweet spot you will get an undesired shot. The only way for you to be able to get a nice shot is to learn to hit it correctly, though this an impact correction aid not a swing aid. It works best if you have a decent swing, but have a problem with casting, or not enough lag.
