A bust, which is called a burst in Europe, is throwing more than you need to complete an '01 game. It's also called a bust when you throw exactly the points that you need, but your last dart was not a double (I'm referring to real darts; you do not need to double-out in soft-tip darts). Leaving yourself one point is also a bust since there is no way to set up for a double-out from one point. When you bust, your score remains what it was before you began your turn, and the next player is up. If you're counting darts for statistics, the turn in which you busted counts as three darts no matter how many darts you actually threw before you busted.

I lost three games of darts last night. See how the mouse darts from room to room.
Shanghai refers to a check out using the treble, single and then double of the same number. It is mostly used for a 120 check out, treble 20, single 20 then double 20. The single and treble can be in any order, but the double must be the last dart.

No, the last year of the dart was in 1975.
I've seen professionals throw a perfect nine-darter in under four or five minutes, and I've seen beginners spend twenty minutes just trying to hit the double-1, so it depends a lot on the player's skill level. I suppose an average leg in a league match would be about 20 or 25 minutes.
501, 301, 301 double in double out, and clock (1-20) in order. Other games are fives (played with a special board which only have the numbers 5,10,15, and 20. They must count down from 505. Also the oche is 9 feet from the board), darts cricket (also called Mickey Mouse, Horse and Carriage, Coach and Horses, Faldo, Beds and Bulls and the very dull 'the game'-must hit the a number between 10-20 three times and a bullseye to score), Shanghai (where you have to hit a single, a double and a triple) and killer (this is a last man standing game-you need to hit your name three times with five darts and then you go to someone else's number). In case you think all these games are played by English chaps with too much time on their hands, there is also dartball, where the board slightly resembles the diamond of a baseball pitch where you may be 'struck out', have a 'strike' or have a 'rob'.
It's called a hat trick A miracle. Played darts for 35 years. Finaly got 3 bulls with 3 darts last week in a game. Very happy.
