They tend to need more food to keep a healthy weight. You can buy feed for older horses that is easy to digest this normally needs to be well dampened so it is soft and easy to chew. Yoy should have teeth checked at regular intervalls to make sure the horse can chew.In winter you have to make sure you give plenty of hay and extra feed to help keep the horse warm. You need to put rugs on and keep the horse warm, sometimes two rugs. Make sure the horse is wormed as directed on the packet as older horses loose weight easily. Most older horses cope very well but can be prone to colic due to their gut slowing down and teeth not mashing their food so well.
I don't think you can make your horse grow faster. Do you mean make it older? You can take care of it, put it to bed, and then under that it says "Age my horse" click that and it will be two months older.

An Easy Keeper
You can be any age to take care of a horse, but to work in a stable you should be at least 13, and to be paid legally for your work you must be a minimum of 14.
If you take care of the horse on the day that it has to give birth, but you don't pay for the birthing, the mare will lose the foal and you will lose a karma point. If you do not take care of the horse, it will not age and therefore will not lose the foal until you take care of it. If you do not have enough money for the birthing, you can just leave the horse alone until you raise enough money.
