If you are talking about it hurting your fingers when you pull back, then I would suggest using a release. You can by one almost anywhere. Most likely a sports center like Cabelas or Scheels. If you are hurting your arm when you let go of the string then you can prevent that by making sure your arm that is holding the handle itself is strait, not bent. If that is a struggle then you can get an arm protecter thing(not sure what there called) that straps around you arm so it doesn't hurt if the string hits you. If it's not one of those then I don't know what to tell you. Sorry and I really hope this helped.
