First, what kind of engine? Second, are you talking about the output shaft?

Typically the output shaft comes directly off of, or is part of, the crankshaft and the engine must be disassembled. However many engines use a geared reducer that can be removed from the engine simply with a few bolts. Determine the manufacture of your mower or the engine and go to their website, perhaps you can find a parts diagram that will give you an exploded view.

How do you swap engine on Murray riding mower?

To swap an engine on a Murry riding mower, it is important to make sure that the new engine is the right match for the mower, by checking the model number. You also need to make sure that the bolt holes line up, so that it will fit safely. Remove the old engine, and then replace the new engine, tightening all the screws and bolts in the reverse order that you followed to remove the old engine.

Why would a riding mower be running hot?

The most common reason for a riding mower engine to run hot is that the cooling area under the metal tins around the engine is probably full of grass clippings or mouse nesting. You will need to remove the metal covering the engine and clean it out. The flywheel has fins on it the blow air accross the engine to keep it cool.

Does gymnastics improve horse riding?

It can. Gymnastics requires balance and strength, just like riding. However, like the answer beneath me, horse riding improves horse riding the best- but it's not necessarily the only thing to improve riding. No not really. Horse riding improves horse riding. That is pretty much it. It is so unique in itself that it is the only thing that will improve itself.

John Deere riding lawn mower hit concrete with the blade backed up the engine stopped and now it will not start starts to run on idle and the blades move much more freely than they used to Ideas?

Several things it could be. Check the key in the flywheel, that would change the timing, I think your engine may have internal problems. Also check the blades where they bolt to the spindles may have broke something there. I am assuming this is a riding tractor with belt driven deck.

What causes a riding mower engine to overheat?

Using it too much or overloading it. Improvement, Using the engine too much will certainly not cause over heating. The most likely cause for the over heating is a clogged cooling shroud. Remove the top engine cover that surrounds the flywheel and remove the grass and debris. Mice love to make nests under those engine covers as well. Kevin
