To make Ballet flats my way this is what you will need:
A pair of tough (preferably thick) socks
Scissors
Two long ribbons
1.) Draw a picture of what they will look like on a piece of paper.
2.)After you have drawn the design, make a light line for the top of your ballet flats to cut.
3.)Cut the line you just made, leave a space on both of the sides on the top.
4.)On the sides, cut slits to lace the ribbon through.
5.)Lace the ribbon through by crossing it like an x.
6.) Try on the ballet flats. (If they do not fit correctly, you may have to start over.)
These ballet flats are not too expensive to make. I wouldn't use these for any performance or competition. These are used for practice at home or just for fun!!
I really hope this helps because I have made several pairs of these and they look real.
If you do tap, tap shoes. If you do ballet, ballet flats.

Flats
A lot of brand name designers have come out with a line of ballet flats, so paired with the right outfit they can look very fashionable. The trick is not to wear ballet flats that are worn, scuffed, or "cheap looking".
Ballet flats (or pompes) started out as a male item but has been appropriated by women and is now percieved as a wholly female Item. Consequently, it is taking a while to catch on as unisex but soon just like ear piercing, pink, make up, leggings, etc., will become unisex the more men wear them. Now more men are starting to wear ballet flats that the fashion industry is catching on and have there own version of male ballet flats so I'm pretty sure that in due time Ballet flats will be part of every men closet, for those who don't already own some that is.
