I bought a Horton Exploer crossbow about a month ago. I like the way it shoots. The scope is poorly mounted onto the metal bar that fits in the scope mounting bracket on the crossbow. This is a result of poor engineering. The screws that hold the scope in place work loose after every 3 or 4 shots. The main Allen head bolt that holds the crossbow together works loose every now and then also. I would seriously consider buying a crossbow with a different type scope mounting bracket on it. I know the folks at Horton have to be aware of their faulty scope mounting assembly. I would say the crossbow is worth about $250 new. I would use locktight on all of the screws to hold them in place and to keep them from working loose during firing. It is hard to keep these crossbows sighted in because all of the screws work loose.
