On base percentage
In Baseball statistics, on base percentage (OBP) is a measure of how often a batter gets to first base for any reason other than a fielding error or a fielder's choice. It may be calculated as:
(H + BB + HBP) / (AB + BB + HBP + SF) OBP is sometimes referred to as "on base average" or OBA.
It is possible for a player's on base percentage to be lower than his batting average (H/AB). If a player had 2 hits and 5 at bats with a sacrifice fly, his batting average would be .400 but his on base percentage would be .333.

To calculate batting average you need to find out how many at bats the player had. This is plate appearances minus walks minus hit by pitches much sacrifice bunts and flys. Then you need to find out how many of those at bats resulted in hits. Take the number of hits and divide it by the number of at bats. This will give you batting average.

Runs batted in is not an average. RBI is a tally of all the runs that a player scored by batting them in. The only averages are on base percentage, batting average, slugging percentage, and fielding percentage.
The percentage is 52 which concludes a .520 batting average.
Fractions are used to computer batting average, on base percentage, slugging percentage, and fielding percentage. Decimals are used to easily present this information. All of this plays an important role in recording the statistics of individual players.
How do you calculate? A 12 inch softball is 12 inches in circumference so you would measure around the ball using a tape measure.
