Well, to do a perfect split, you need to warm up first. When you couldn't get to the floor today, if you didn't warm up properly, there's your answer right there. Also, there's a chance that you pulled a muscle when you did a perfect split, in which case you would have to wait for it to heal and then re-achieve your split (this has happened to me before).
