They were a happy family but once the nazis got there. eveything just turne into a disaster.
The most important quote that is repeated throughout the story and is "As long as there is life, there is hope". But Riva (the main character) also wrote letters and poems in camp.
she was born in Poland. if you want to learn more about her I would recommend her book: The Cage. Its an amazing story and she is still living today on December 11 2011. And she is coming to one of my classes to speak.

Ruth Minsky Sender is an author that wrote; To Life, The Cage and The Holocaust Lady. She was born in Lodz Poland, and was taken to ghetto after ghetto by the Nazis. She had 3 brothers named: Motele, Laibele, and Moshiele, Avromele Minska passed away shortly after Moshiele's birth. Avromele was Riva's father.
