The horsepower was measured at the rear wheels on a chassis dynamometer in a 2001 edition of Dirtwheels magazine when the bike was introduced onto the scene. The dyno test resulted in 38 hp measured at the rear wheels. This translates to 44 - 45 hp measured at the crankshaft when using the usual drive train efficiency of 85%.

California models will produce slightly less do to emissions restrictions. CT Racing ran a California model on a chassis dynamometer and it produced 33 hp at the rear wheels. This can be seen on CT's website. After modifications were made to the California edition, the power figures were consistent with power produced by non-California models.
