Tara Lipinski. She is still the youngest woman ever to have won the Olympic gold medal in figure skating, at age fifteen.
There are 4 figure skating events: Men's Singles, Woman's Singles, Pairs, and Ice Dancing. With 3 medals( Gold, Silver, Bronze) for each of those events there are 12.
4 women Tara Lipinski in women's figure skating and the ladies hockey team won gold in 1998.
Janet Lynn won the US Ladies Figure Skating title every year from 1969-73. She did win one Olympic medal, a bronze in 1972

Women competed in the first Winter Olympics, the 1924 Games in Chamonix. There were 13 women competitors, all in figure skating. Herma Planck-Szabo of Austria was the first woman to win a gold medal in the Winter Olympics when she won the ladies singles figure skating competition. Two days later, Helene Engelmann of Austria won gold in mixed pairs figure skating with her partner Alfred Berger. Helene Engelmann and Herma Planck-Szabo were cousins.
Canadian skater Vern Taylor was the first to land a triple Axel in competition at the 1978 World Figure Skating Championships. Midori Ito was first woman to land a triple axel in competiton at 1988 Aichi Prefecture Championship and then first in a major international competition at the 1989 World Figure Skating Championships I think it is Michelle Kwuan
