This has been done three times in cricket.
The first was in 1960, by Alan Davidson for Australia against the West Indies. He scored 124 and took 11-222. The game ended in a tie. However, no hundred was scored, scores of 44 and 80 were posted.
The first occaision where a hundred was scored was by Ian Botham for England against India, scoring 114 in the first innings and did not bat in the 2nd and took 13-126. England won by 10 wickets.
The other occaision was Imran Khan for Pakistan also against India. Scoring 117 and taking 11-180. Pakistan won by 10 wickets.
There was other records broken in this game, as the first time 4 centuries were scored in the Pakistan innings of 652 (Javed Miandad, Zaheer Abbas, Saleem Malik and Imran Khan). Also Zaheer Abbas became the first Pakistani to score 3 centuries in consecutive innings. Also, Kapil Dev became the first bowler to concede 200 runs in an innings against Pakistan.

Lala Amarnath was the first Indian cricketer to score century in Tests. Kapil Dev was the first Indian cricketer to score a century in ODI.
Matthew Hayden was the first cricketer to score 400 in one inning.
England's Jim Laker was the first cricketer to take all ten wickets in an innings, in a Test match against Australia at Old Trafford in 1956. Laker finished with the amazing figures of 10/53 in the second innings, outdoing his incredible 9/37 in the first innings. No other bowler has taken more than 17 wickets in a first-class match or a Test match.
The first Indian women's cricketer to score a century in Test cricket was Shantha Rangaswamy, who scored her first and only century between January 9-10, 1977, her, and India Women's, seventh Test match.
