Canuck is a somewhat derogatory term for a Canadian. A canuck can be a pilot. Or a teacher, a seamstress, an astronaut. The Canucks are also the Vancouver NHL team

Yes. He retired as a Canuck but will be known as the best Toronto Maple Leaf of all time. He is also in the top 25 of all-time NHL point scorers.
The Vancouver Canucks.
Vancouver's NHL team is the Vancouver Canucks.
These two organizations are not related. The Vancouver Millionaires existed from 1911 to 1926, competing in the Pacific Coast Hockey Association and Western Canada Hockey League. The team was called the Vancouver Maroons from 1922 to 1926. The Vancouver Canucks were formed in 1945 and played in two minor leagues until 1970: Pacific Coast Hockey League and Western Hockey League. The Canucks joined the NHL in the 1970 expansion.
The Vancouver Canucks and Buffalo Sabres became NHL clubs in the 1970-71 season.

If your talking about the NHL Vancouver Canucks, which I assume you are, there are two answers. In the expansion draft which is a draft where teams can pick the players that make up their team when the enter the league the Canucks picked 24-year old stay at home defenseman Gary Doak. If you mean in the NHL Entry Draft, the Canucks lost the spin of the wheel to the Buffalo Sabres and ended up picking 2nd Overall in the 1970 NHL Entry Draft. The Canucks picked 19-year old defender Dale Tallon.
The 1990 NHL Entry Draft was held in BC Place Stadium, Vancouver. Owen Nolan was the first overall selection in that draft.
