There are only a handful of professional careers that need a college degree. Mostly in the medical field. Many retired professional players keep working in other fields of their sport genre. Most of the commentators are ex-players.
Becoming a sports commentator doesn't necessarily require a degree, but a degree in Broadcasting can certainly help if you're trying to get hired from the street. A lot of commentators, if not retired players, usually started working some other job in the company and worked their way up to the booth. Sometimes, it's just who you know. Sometimes it's just people who invest their own (and sponsors) money into their own sports show (like Bruce Drennan).

A college degree is not required for this field.
One does not need a college degree to work at SeaWorld. Companies often hire people with no degree when they need people to work. Companies wont also hire people with no degree when they have applicants that want the job have college degree. With a college degree one is certain to get hired.
