Yes soccer players get paid more than Basketball player. The reason for this is that Basketball is mostly funded by the US. Soccer is funded by many countries.
So soccer is the higher paid sport.

A-Rod signed a $265 million dollar contract, but over 10 years. That's about 26.5 million per year.
David Beckham's earnings with the LA Galaxy completely dwarfs A-Rod's.
Also, the most expensive sports franchise in the world is Manchester United soccer club in England. 2nd place goes to the NY Yankees.
Baseball players in the US make much more than soccer players in the US.
By contrast, soccer players in Europe make as much (or in some cases more than) baseball players in the US.
