An "OUT" is exactly what it sounds like, you run up the field usually about 5 yards then cut out towards the sideline. And right when you make that cut outwards to the sideline you should be looking over your inside shoulder for the ball.
A "DIG" sometimes called a hitch or comeback route. You run up the field usually 3 to 5 yards then plant hard with your outside foot. Right when you plant your foot, you turn back towards the quarterback and look for the ball. When you see the ball coming in your direction go and get it don't wait for it to get to you!
