The earliest rules & diagram of Kickball was from the Emmett D. Angell in his book Play that was published in 1910. The name of the sport was called "kicking-Baseball" It was a sport designed to teach girls the basics of baseball. However, I am not sure if the sport was around earlier or invented by someone else.

Its more of a gym sport etc. Not many places in the world play it and im pretty sure there arent any professional leagues.
The moment you're paid to participate you are no longer an amateur. So if an amateur sport, say kickball, wanted to become professional, they would need to establish a league that paid their players.
