A man from south Australia, named Lance De Mole was the person who invented the tank in 1912. However, the British were the first to build it in 1915 by using De Moles design so there is confusion as to who invented the tank. But there is no doubt, it is designed by an Australian and the british stole it.
People have argued about this for a long time, many claiming to be British, while many others think it is Australians but In truth, Lance De Mole invented it
Yes they did, in WW1. No. Incorrect. An Australian, Lance De Mole invented the tank in 1912. He submitted it to the British War Office, but was rejected. and again in 1914, and 1916. Eventually they accepted. An English man took out a patent on a concept but never produced a working machine. De mole produced a working model. It travelled at 2.5 miles per hour. It is on display in the Australian War memorial.
Harry & Jack McLaren invented the Surf Ski in 1912. Lance de Mole invented the tank in 1912. Arthur James Arnot invented the electric drill in 1889. Louis Brennan invented the underwater torpedo in 1874.
Lance Jensen has written: 'Money in the tank' -- subject(s): Automobiles, Fuel consumption, Miscellanea
