The Canadian that participated in the 2010 Olympics was Kristina Groves. She won the Bronze medal or you can say 3rd place.
Speed Skating became an Olympic sport in 1924.
People began speed skating as a Olympic event in 1924 but only men can compete. Women can compete in 1974 for speed skating.

Speed Skating. This is the events where they race around the ice track, and they have longer blades for smoother skating, better traction and more speed.
Many people, the highlights being Jerrrimy Witherspoon, Cindy Klassen and Katrina Groves.
Women's bobsleigh at the 2010 Games in Vancouver. Heather Moyse and Kaillie Humphries won gold and Shelley-Ann Brown and Helen Upperton won silver. Prior to that was women's 1500 meter speed skating at the 2006 Winter Games in Turin where Cindy Klassen won gold and Kristina Groves won silver.

Kristina's first Olympics was the 2002 Games in Salt Lake City where she competed in women's 1500 meters, 3000 meters, and 5000 meters speed skating without winning a medal. Kristina subsequently won silver medals in 1500 meters at the 2006 Games in Turin and 2010 Games in Vancouver. She also won a bronze medal in 3000 meters at the 2010 Games and a silver in team pursuit at the 2006 Games.
