No, Alan Trammell of the Detroit Tigers had never played first base. He started at Shortstop in 1977 and continued Shortstop as his primary position throghout 1992. In 1993, he played Shortstop, third base, Left Field and Center Field. In 1994 and 1995, he played only Shortstop however in 1996 which was his last season as a player in the Major Leagues, he played second base, Shortop, third base and Left Field.
