Yes...you can get all the gear needed to play paintball with $500; however, you won't be able to afford very high-end equipment on a $500 budget. You can pick up starter kits at Wal-Mart for around $150 dollars but you could easily spend $500 dollars on a good marker alone. If you want to get into paintball with a low budget i would suggest that you check eBay for auctions selling all the needed equipment for a reasonable price.
